Thanks to the help of our volunteers and generous supporters,  We feel extremely proud of the positive contributions that we have made in educating, equipping and empowering our community through both our initiatives.
During the last 10 years, Fundación Bechara,
  • certified over 600 people
  • donated over 60 AED's and helped implement several Pad programs in our community with the purpose of  saving lives.
In addition, through our second initiative, Be Brave, Fundación Bechara has made significant contributions to our the medical community in the areas of education and innovative research support.
  • Fundación Bechara has hosted seven successful  medical seminars in which doctors in Puerto Rico received continuing education credits.
  • We have donated around $200,000 for innovative research support.
  • The Be Brave club has ben established in several schools and  they have done an excellent job in spreading awareness about autoimmune conditions among the young thru their newsletter spotlight.
As Dr. Michael  Weinblatt stated, " This entire orientation towards education, research and philanthropy makes this foundation, one of it's kind".
In response to unexpected events,  we were quick give to give much needed support to our community as well as to other non-profit organizations.  After Hurricane Maria devastated our island,
  • Fundación Bechara raised over $150,000 and in collaboration with other organizations was able to provide aid to hospitals, clinics, and non-profit organizations whose services were compromised as a result of  hurricane damages.
  • Relief efforts: 50,000  pounds of medical supply distributed
  • Recovery efforts: $88,000 in grants to non-profit organizations.
In the midst of the global health emergency, Covid 19, Be Brave by Fundación Bechara
  • raised  $58,000 and was able to donate much needed personal protection equipment to hospitals, elderly homes, and non-profit organizations,
We believe in the importance of collaborating and helping other non-profit organizations. By working together we can make a greater impact in our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and look forward to continuing our mission of strengthening public health in our community.
