OUR DEEPEST APPRECIATION TO OUR DONORS! 

​Fundación Bechara Hurricane Maria relief Fund was a campaign that focused on establishing collaborative efforts with organizations and hospitals in the mainland and Puerto Rico to provide recovery aid to support hospitals, clinics, and non-profit organizations throughout Puerto Rico whose services were compromised by the effects of hurricane damages. Our efforts aimed to strengthen public health programs
RELIEF EFFORTS- PHASE 1
Established a collaborative alliance with School of Pharmacy University of  Puerto Rico to in order to receive and distribute medical supplies donated by several US hospitals and physicians to clinics in Puerto Rico.
 
Coordinated, Received and Distributed over 50,000 pounds of medical supplies to clinics and hospitals throughout Puerto Rico.

  1. Hospital Pediátrico Universitario, San Juan
  2. Hospital San Lucas, Ponce
  3. Hospital Municipal de Carolina
  4. Centro de Cáncer para la Mujer, Ponce
  5. Doctor’s Hospital
  6. Distributed medical supplies donated from Envolve Pharmacy Solutions to Premium Medical Health Care Services for the Centro de Acopio in Trujillo Alto 
  7. Centro de Acopio en San Sebastían
  8. Centro de Acopio en Isabela
  9. Centro de Acopio en Añasco
  10. Centro de Acopio en Aguada
  11. Water Distribution to AmeriCares, Heart to Heart, Team Rubicon volunteers for remote clinics at Utuado, Lares & Aguadilla
  12. Collaborated with Foundation for Puerto Rico and Posada Team to bring a Fed Ex plane filled with primary care  supplies and distributed them in municipalities in PR
  13. Collaborated with Triple SSS to bring medical supplies in a comercial flight to be distributed in elderly homes.
  14. Sponsored and supported volunteer physicians from PR and the USA to establish remote clinics and provide health care services in remote areas.
  15. Assisted physicians in acquiring medications for the remote clinics
  16. Coordinated flights with FURA helicopters to transport physicians and medications to Lares and Utuado
  17. Hosted weekly meetings with Puerto Rico Department of Health, Federal Health Department in Puerto Rico, and volunteer physicians and health care professionals to coordinate medical relief efforts across the island. 
  18. Established a call center to assist patients find their doctors and have access to their medications.
  19. Launched a media tour campaign to inform the community about clinics facilities and physician services available.

SUPPORTED HOSPITAL PEDIATRICO NICU UNIT

We made donations to the following non-profit organizations to aid in their hurricane recovery processes:
1. SER de Puerto Rico
Contribution for:
 Power Generator & Water Cistern for Ponce Facility
This is the only center that provides multidisciplinary services including education and rehabilitation in the Southern Region. It receives participants from the South, East and Central Region.
2. Hospital Pediátrico Universitario (NICU Center)
Contribution for: Reconstruction of South Area of NICU Center,
Largest NICU Area in Puerto Rico (50 beds) suffered severe damage with the hurricane.
 3. Sociedad pro Hospital del Niño
Contribution for: Solar Pannels for Kitchen & Laundry Areas
The only organization in Puerto Rico offering long term housing for pediatric patients including ambulatory medical and therapeutical healthcare services to more than 3,000 children throughout the Island.
 4. Fundación A-Mar 
Contribution for: Victims of severe burnt injuries. Due to the lack of electricity in the island post Maria, many suffered  accidents that occurred because of the increased use of generators and propane and butane gas burners. 

A non-profit organization that provides aid to children with burnt injuries and community prevention education. 
5. CODERI (Colegio de Educación Especial y Rehabilitación Integral)
Contribution for: Equipment and Insfractructure for Occupational Therapy Classroom & Areas

Special education school offering speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychological therapy, vocational training geared towards empowering severe special needs students to live an independent and productive life.
 6. Asociación Mayaguezana de Personas con Impedimentos (AMPI)
Contribution for: Recovery Financial Aid
Elderly Homes for People with severe Dissabilities in Mayaguez
 7. La Fondita de Jesús
Contribution for: Primary HealthCare Services & supplies for 8 communities severely affected (atended 450 people daily)
La Corporación La Fondita de Jesús has been providing homeless people in the community food and healthcare services since 1985. Due to devastation caused by  Hurricane María, they are also providing their services to families of more than eight communities who lost their homes.
 8. Instituto Psicopedagógico de Puerto Rico
Contribution for: Infrastructure Aid
Residence that provides clinical, educational services to adults with severe handicap and intellectual disabilities. The organization attends 121 individuals.
 9. Asociación Puertorriqueña de Ayuda a Paciente de Psoriasis   
Contribution for: Patient /Physician (dermatologists) Educational Symposium for psoriasis patients handling post hurricane flare-ups .
Organization that provides education and support to patients diagnosed with psoriasis. 
 10. Fundación GANAR                                                                  
Contribution for: Patient /Physician (pediatric rheumatologist) Educational Symposium for handling post hurricane flare-ups to pediatric rheumatic patients 
Organization that provides education and support to children and adolescents diagnosed with rheumatic conditions.  
11. Hogar San Miguel, Hospital San Lucas Ponce                           
​Contribution for: Infrastructure Aid to enfermery area
 PR Government Alternate housing for Children  with special needs removed from their families

12. Boys and Girls Club Puerto Rico
Donation: 2 
Automated External Defibrillators for their facility in San Juan, PR. 
Contribution for: Educational Program to decrease anxiety and post- traumatic stress disorders in children and adolescents in an effort to prevent chronic illnesses that can be triggered by mental disorders.
Organization that focuses on offering children and youngsters hope for a better future and opportunities for them to develop to their full potential.
13. One Human Family Coalition 
Donation: 1 Automated External Defibrillator for a Free Clinic in Quebradillas, PR. 
14. Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias Médicas                            
Donation: 1 Automated External Defibrillator for their clinic in Vieques, PR.
